Why Inman Aligners?
- Is an alternative to Invisible Braces when teeth need proclining / retroclining
- Allows you to achieve great results using just one appliance. Where teeth are rotated finalising with invisible aligners may be required.
- Can give you a wonderful smile with less hassle and expense in a shorter period of time. Can be used in severe treatments.
- Can be removed and inserted as easily as a retainer.
As time goes by, your teeth may tend to shift sometimes causing your front top and bottom teeth to become crooked. At first glance, you must think you need braces, however with the patented Inman Aligner your front teeth can be gently guided to an ideal position quickly and effectively in a matter of weeks. This occasionally happens for adults who had orthodontic treatment when they were younger. The most common treatment is some crowding or moderate rotations of front teeth.
With the introduction of the Inman Aligner, you can return your teeth to their ideal position with minimal hassle, expense and time.
Is the Inman Aligner new?
Patients have been treated with Inman Aligners since 2000. In the United States approximately 450 to 500 new patients are prescribed treatment with Inman Aligners every month.
Is the Inman Aligner comparable to Invisalign?
Invisalign is made of a specialised plastic hence the forces are low and the treatment slower. Inman Aligner incorporates tiny Nickel Titanium springs that are able to maintain a higher constant tension. It is used for treating the top and bottom front teeth only. Invisalign can treat full arches (all your teeth). When the back teeth need treatment ie the arch width is too narrow we can use a pre-treatment to expand the arches and follow with Inman Aligner. The treatment time is usually faster than clear braces.
Will treatment with the Inman Aligner be uncomfortable?
No. Due to the gentle but steady orthodontic forces generated, the appliances are easily tolerated.
Will the Inman Aligner affect my speech?
Yes. The Inman Aligner will affect your speech for a week or two. You will however acclimate to the appliances over time and be able to speak fine with them in place.
Will I need to see the doctor frequently for adjustments?
The Inman Aligners are pre-programmed to reduce the need for office visits. Your doctor will prescribe a treatment due to your needs. The Inman Aligner utilizes a lingual coil spring that puts pressure on the teeth that need repositioning and a labial bar that reverses the same pressure. These components work together to "squeeze" teeth together by pushing and pulling them into alignment. It will take about one week of wearing the Inman Aligner to become acclimated. Like anything foreign to your mouth, it may cause you to salivate more than usual for 24 to 48 hours and could affect your speech for 7 to 10 days. You have the option of not wearing the appliance, however, the longer you wear the Inman Aligner the quicker the results. It is recommended that you wear the appliance for at least 16 to 20 hours a day.
Won't my teeth move back?
A fixed retainer can be bonded to the back of the front teeth to retain the result. This orthodontic wire is very thin and cannot be seen from the front. Alternatively a removable retainer can be worn.
The one appliance that will result in an endless number of perfect smiles

Testimonials
I desperately wanted to my teeth to be straight again and certainly didn't want to have to wear the dreaded train tracks! I work as a News Anchor and a Television Journalist, and thanks to High Definition technology, a few teeth out of line can look really bad on screen. So I needed something which I could take in and out but which would work quickly.
So, I was quite nervous when I made my first appointment to see Dr Jamus at Kensington Dental Spa, as my expectations were high but I wasn't sure anything could work that fast!
On the day, he took me through photos of other inman patients and their teeth, which were dated so I could see the progress that they had made. I was also shown what the brace looked like and how it worked – it looks a little scary but is very easy to get used to. Dr. Jamus said it was likely to take 6 to 8 weeks, and based on the photos I decided to go for it.
Its eight weeks later and my teeth are completely straight again. It has been amazing to watch them line up so quickly. I saw a difference within the first two days of wearing the brace and my family were also completely amazed. Not to mention a friend who had been wearing invisalign for almost two years and still hadn't seen the big improvement she was looking for.
I have been making a TV series and was worried that I wouldn't be able to wear the brace as much, or that it would be difficult to talk when the cameras weren't rolling and that I'd feel self conscious. The reality is that the brace takes a bit of getting used to, and it will slightly affect your speech. BUT…it works so quickly you won't care and you'll want to wear it all the time!
I can't recommend it enough, I was promised straight teeth in 6-8 weeks and that's exactly what I've got.
